COVID-19 Information Page

After the announcement, on March 11, 2020, by the World Health Organization (WHO), that the COVID-19 outbreak can be characterized as a pandemic, and subsequent restrictions imposed worldwide and nationwide, it is important to ensure our community of linguists, vendors, and customers, that our agency will continue to pursue its business as normally as possible while keeping updated on the newest developments.

Considering our platform and services are essentially cloud-based and our resources work mainly from remote locations, the risk of spreading is minimal; however, in observance of the WHO's advice on SARS-Cov 2 virus and COVID-19, the Portuguese National Health Authority guideline on prevention, control and monitoring procedures for business companies No. 006/1 (26/02/2020), and the Declaration of the State of Emergency by the Portuguese Government, on March 19, we have adopted the following safety measures:

  • Our physical office shall be temporarily closed, we will be pursuing our activity using digital means only.

  • All delivery packages, and documents required for certified translation, must be sent, and will be delivered, by courier/postal mail only.

  • For the time being, and until further notice, there will be no assignment of interpreters to physical locations - i.e. ceremony venues, conference rooms, business offices, etc. All interpreting assignments will be performed remotely - via Skype, telephone, or similar.

We will continue to monitor the developments, updating our activities accordingly and keeping you informed on such updates.

Practice respiratory hygiene

Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.

Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.

Maintain social distancing

Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

In case of fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early

Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority.

Why? National and local authorities will have the most up to date information on the situation in your area. Calling in advance will allow your health care provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections.

Avoid touching your face

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.
